We are sorry to hear that our colleague and editor-in-chief of The Lancet Infectious Diseases, John McConnell, passed away. We hosted him at the 19th Turkish Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases (KLİMİK 2018) Congress held in Antalya on March 28-31, 2018. He will be missed.
