IDWeek 2015’ten: Sürekli Öğrenmeyi Temel Alan Bir Sağlık Sistemi İnfeksiyonların Önlenmesi ve Rutin Bakımda İyileşme Sağlayabilir

Harvard Tıp Fakültesi’nde öğretim görevlisi olan Richard Platt, IDWeek 2015 kapsamında yaptığı konuşmasının öne çıkan başlıklarını aktarıyor. Platt ulusal sağlık sistemlerinin iyi uygulamalara kulak veren ve sürekli öğrenen bir yapıya kavuşturulmasının infeksiyonların önlenmesine katkıda bulunacağını ifade ediyor.

SAN DIEGO — Richard Platt, MD, MS, FIDSA, FSHEA, professor of population medicine at Harvard Medical School and the Harvard Pilgrim Health Care Institute, discusses highlights from his SHEA Lecture at IDWeek 2015, which focused on the ways in which infection prevention will benefit from a national learning health system.

A recent publication from the infection prevention community summarized evidence for over 100 recommendations of best practices for infection prevention, but only 15 of the recommendations were based on a high level of evidence, according to Platt.

“I submit that it’s important for us to develop better evidence for many of the practices that are important for the well-being of our patients, our health care workers, and society in general,” Platt says. “That need is consonant with the recommendation of the Institute of Medicine that we become a learning health system that both applies best practice when it’s known and develops new evidence from the delivery of practice about how to inform better care.”
